Balenciaga Hand Bags
Balenciaga couture was begun in 1915 by a 16 year old named Cristobal Balenciaga, a Spaniard. Cristobal would spend endless amounts of time watching and learning from his mother, who was a seamstress. He was very lucky to have the Marquesa de Casa Torres, a very prominent Spanish Royal, as his patron. She recognized his talent at a young age and sent Balenciaga to Madrid for training as a tailor. As he produced his designs, she would actually wear them. This attracted the attention of the Spanish Aristocracy and he was then on his way to fame and fortune. Royalty from all over the globe have worn his designs and touted his talent over the many decades of his reign. Fortune is a strange character and in the case of Balenciaga, the strife during the Spanish Civil War caused him to shut down his operations and begin again in Paris, France. In France his fame and reputation became even more inflamed and he was highly touted as one of the greatest designers ever. As time passed and WWII began, people were so enthralled by his talent and designs that many world renowned celebrities and members of global aristocracies actually risked going to Paris to buy his merchandise. After the war, his designs gained even more popularity and in the 1960s regained even more popularity. Cristobal had a long successful ride to the top of the fashion charts and has maintained his position throughout the history of his company.

Cristobal Balenciaga died in 1972 in Spain; however, his company has carried on since that time through others who apprenticed under him during his very long and successful career and life. Nicolas Ghesquire is the current leader of the Balenciaga Company and has held that position since 1997. The company continues to outflow the beautiful and sleek styles that it has been known for over its long history.
Though Balenciaga's fashionable attire was what made his name famous, his handbags are also exceptionally accepted and desired throughout the world markets. Some of the most famous celebrities of our time can be seen lugging a Balenciaga purse or handbag.
Most of Balenciaga's handbags are made from goat skin that has been distressed in some way. This unique look is actually quite attractive. Some of the bags appear to be antiquated yet are still practical, very well manufactured and of the highest quality. The old, distressed appearance is readily accepted and often boasted on. A Balanciaga on a woman's arm attracts envy from onlookers, for sure. Some modern celebrities who are known to wear a Balenciaga bag are Paris Hilton and Sarah Jessica Parker among others.
Some of the high quality features of the Balenciaga bag include interior zipped pockets, long leather tassels, cornered buckle accents, matching cosmetic mirrors, rolled double handles and exterior zippered pockets. Of course, the shoulder straps are optional. Various colors for the various lines are also available. Colors such as Green Apple, Pink and Chocolate are popular as are Sky Blue, Pewter and Forest.
The most famous Balenciaga bag is the Motorcycle Bag which was introduced in the 2001 collection but any handbag made by this high quality very sophisticated fashion designer is worth whatever you pay for it.
