More Designer Handbag Scams
We have learned of several more scams that have occurred to designer bag shoppers. As we've stated before, it is very important that the online shopper for designer purses and bags use the utmost discretion when considering purchases. Scams are essentially easy to bring off and most people do not know the difference between a fake and a real designer bag. If you are unfamiliar with the differences, you should purchase your purse through a reputable and well-known dealer. You will pay more for your bag but then it will be the real thing and thus retain its value for a long period of time and, in most cases, will increase in value as the years go by. Here is our second article on scams of designer bags.

Pretend for a moment that you are shopping on Ebay or another online auction. You are desperately seeking a designer bag. You run across an ad that claims to be selling a genuine Louis Vuitton designer bag. It shows several pictures of the bag and the price is unbelievable. It is significantly lower than the price you have seen in authorized dealer shops. You look further into the ad and there's the answer. This bag is being sold by someone who was given the bag by a wealthy relative. This wealthy relative has given the seller several of the designer bags and the seller has no use for more than one designer bag so they are selling this one cheap. After all, it cost them practically nothing. DON'T DO IT!!!
Think about it now. If, in fact, some rich person had received a very expensive gift such as a prime designer bag, why would they sell it so cheaply when they could actually sell it for very close to the going price? If they just wanted to get rid of it, why would they not simply give it to a friend or relative as a gift? This is one of those “..if it's too good to be true, it probably is..” scams. The seller, in all actuality, probably acquired a fake or knock-off purse somehow, very inexpensively. They are now trying to make a profit off of it. Another possibility is that someone got scammed by a rip-off artist and is looking to pass that loss on and get their money back. The ideas are limitless and if you purchase one of these bags, you are throwing your money away so be cautious and do not fall for this scam. Don't let your desperation get the best of you. Investigate, investigate, investigate and then go buy from someone who knows their merchandise. If you are willing to settle for a fake designer purse, don't buy it online. There are plenty of reasonable facsimiles out there that, like the product are cheaper than what you can usually find on the Internet.
One of the most frequently used scams is a very simply one. The scammer puts up a web site or an auction site and displays authentic file pictures of genuine designer bags. They have probably already acquired knock-offs that are similar to the real thing and they are offering them as genuine articles. A poor soul purchases one of them and pays a heavy price only to receive a genuine knock-off fake purse. By the time the seller starts receiving heat from a number of sources, they disappear with their remaining stock of fake purses and the money they have stolen from naïve purchasers. Again….don't trust the online purchase unless it is from a well-known and prominent online merchandiser with a faultless reputation. Do your due diligence and research and protect yourself from these unscrupulous phonies.
